The 7:30 Report – Wednesday 24th August
It is with reluctance that I undertake this report. Thanks to my playing group of Gary Liddy, Don Bubeck (Euroa GC) and Karl Pongracic for attempting to keep my rubbish Par score competitive.
Just one grade today due to several regulars sleeping in or worried their shoes might become muddy.
Winner and only player to achieve handicap, despite the jetlag, was John 'Shooter' Dawson (14) Even . Interesting aside: Shooter was seen having a selfie with reigning Open winner, Cameron Smith.
Runner up on countback from Keith Miles (20) was Tony carter (15) both gents returning -3.
Isaac Golden (18) and Jezza Clare (20) -4
Gary Liddy (20) and Oils Flannery (17) -5
Don Bubeck (16) -6
Meaning a threeway countback for the plates between Snags Sinclair (8), Karl Pongracic (25) and eventual recipient Walrus (9) -8
NTPs A grade: Snags 1st/10th
B grade: Gary (chip in birdie) 8th/17th
Birdies to Gary 8th, Snags 11th and Shooter 2nd & 17th
Next week will be a Par bisque with a twist. Players are to nominate and record how many strokes they will use on each hole BEFORE they hit off.
This Saturday is the Woodend Sign Obsession August Monthly Medal.
Sunday we welcome our 'Ladies Get Into Golf@MMGC' participants back for another modified ambrose. We currently have 8 ladies registered so there is still space available. Please contact Bruce if you are attending. Change of start time to 2:30.
