It was the final 'Ladies Get Into Golf @ MMGC' session for this year, Congratulations to co-ordinator Bruce Fraser and the 60 lady participants that braved some pretty ordinary weather conditions over the past 3 months of Sundays. Events such as these do not happen by accident and the commitment from a small and dedicated group of members to support this program has been critical to its success.
From new member Emma Keating:
"Dear Marcus and Bruce
I would like to say a massive thank you, to you both but extend to all volunteers who came to support the women’s beginners and ‘advanced’ golf lessons!
Such a wonderful community effort and a place that I am so grateful to be part of.
Spurred on by my hubby, I managed to rally up my 6 girl friends to join. I never imagined the fun and laughter we would have along the way! Not to mention, some golf tips!
My native Ireland is a long way away, but things like this bring communities closer.
Thank you for your time, commitment and support of this community. You are truly wonderful people!
Please extend my thank you to all involved!
Kind regards
Emma Keating"
Today we drew the raffle prize for the new set of ladies clubs and bag donated by one of our members as well as wines donated by Dee Cremasco of Mt Towrong winery and wines from Gisborne Foodworks.
Michelle Ryan was the recipient of the major prize.
Thank you also to Gisborne and District Bendigo Bank and their representative Dominic Andreacchio who was on hand to present four sets of new clubs made available through the bank's generous donation to this program.
