The 7:30 Report-Wednesday 3rd November.
Following a successful Cup Day par 3 ambrose competition yesterday won by the Fairley/A Fraser pairing from runners up Ward/Hohmann, it was back to 'regular' Wednesday golf for the Michelle Edwards-MTA Travel November Mug o' the Month. With some conflicting weather reports circulating last night, it seems some of the usual attendees may have been a little shy to venture out. The BoM were absolutely correct with their gale warnings-the 13th and 18th are never easy holes, made all the more difficult as we battled strong northerly winds all day. Fortunately a shower very late in the round was the only dampener the field had to face.Pleasingly all of today's players have been fully vaccinated.A reminder to all members, MMGC friends and green fee players that proof of double vaccination is the governmental directive in order to be permitted to access the course and to enter the clubhouse and surrounds.
The results:
Winner - Snags Sinclair ( 37 points from runner up Ian Gill (14) 36 points, both players receiving a ball for achieving handicap or better.
Shooter Dawson (13), Bubba Watson (23) and Karl Pongracic (27) 34 points.
Oils Flannery (16) and Jeremy Clare (20) 32 points
Richard Payne (7) 31 points
Joggers Andrew (11) 29 points
Mike Hoiles (14) 28 points
Walrus (9) 23 points
Graeme Bonsack (19) 21 points
Tiger Penney (37) 20 points
Round's highlights:
Birdie balls for Snags on the 10th and Richard on the 17th.
A Tiger par on the par three 16th for a 4 pointer!
NTPs
A grade (handicap <19) Peter Sinclair 10th
B grade (>19) 3rd/12th) Bubba Watson
Now that we are comfortable in the booking process to secure a tee slot on Saturdays, we are requiring our Wednesday Gentlemen to undertake the same. This is in order to establish whether we have two grades or one in the OneGolf program, so that players can be registered prior to arriving on the Wednesday morning. Arrival time and 7:30 start time remain constant.
Due to the complicated nature of rotating NTPs in the OneGolf system, the B grade second shot NTP is now the 3rd/12th while the A grade second shot NTP is the 5th/14th.
Next Wednesday is fixtured to be a stableford event.
This Saturday is the 18/27 hole Open. Blue tees/blue course handicaps (currently displayed).
If you are intending to enter the open, contact Club Captain Mick Doyle at mmgccaptain@gmail.com to book a tee time.
