Baker's dozen as the day started off overcast but still. A short mid round shower was the only dampener on what was an enjoyable round. As it was the last Wednesday of the month, the team's event was a 4BBB par.
I had the pleasure of watching the winners Nifty and Keith with an excellent +10. Keith consistently splitting the middle off the fairway and Neville's touch from 50m was 'special' not to mention both men nailing putts when needed. Runners up on countback were Pierre Watson and Partner from the two Ians, Gill and Flannery, both finishing on +6. +5s for Liddy and Hoiles, Dawson and Clare. Which left the dishes to Rob Toole and Paul Lever +1, meaning Rob got to use the tea towel his dad had donated to the Wednesday gentlemen for the very first time-isn't it ironic, don't you think?
A warm welcome to John Dawson who is looking to become a regular on Wednesdays.
John also snagged a ball for his B grade birdie on the 10th.
THE CAT IS BACK!
The moggie which wanders onto the course at the 8th green from a Childer's Rd residence was extremely helpful to Paul Lever's ball as it batted it onto the 8th green. This is what I would call a 'paw' shot.
Forthcoming events
This Saturday is the Woodend Sign Obsession's February Monthly Medal and Medal of Medallists final.
Next Wednesday is the Intrinsic Health's March Mug o' the Month
Members are reminded to check the March fixture as there are two team based competitions back to back, so you will need to secure partners.
Finally, players are requested not to mark the NTPs by scraping the spike on the green as this cuts the roots of the grass.
