Team Event

Early morning mist and not a breath of wind this morning for the 15 players. Five teams of three for a 3 person ambrose (5 drives minimum). A welcome back to Dermott Timmins-brother of Gerry-who joined Gary Baker in the Brexit Trio.

Winners were Mike Hoiles, Ryan Toholka and Gary Liddy off a handicap of 9 for a nett 54 which included 6 birdies and 2 bogeys. Runners-up: Tiger Penney (new handicap of 41), Keith Miles and Jeremy Clare (13 and 2/3) nett 56 and 1/3, third Walrus, Nifty and Ian Gill (7 and 5/6) nett 58 and 1/6, avoiding the dishes were Gary Baker, Gerry and Dermott nett 60 and 5/6. Meaning Graham Bonsack, Pierre Watson and Oils Flannery (10 and 1/3) nett 63 and 2/3 did the cleaning up.

Thank to Gary Liddy for jumping behind the bar and keeping the gentlemen hydrated. To Nathan Fairley for mowing the greens before we played and an enormous well done to Graham Bysouth who was on the mower yesterday to tidy all of the fairways-they look and play fantastically well. Substantial rain due this weekend and into next week should alleviate the torrid weather predicted for this Friday.

Disappointingly there were a score of plug marks on the 4th green which needed repairing this morning. Clearly there has been someone/s out practising and damaging the greens. Members are encouraged to keep their eyes open for this type of behaviour and challenge anyone they see causing damage to the course.
