Team Event

Blustery wind and very cool morning for the four pairs who played a Foursomes event this morning.
Foursomes is a stroke competition when pairs of players determine who will hit off first on the even tees before alternating shots with their partner and likewise for the odd numbered tees.
I had the pleasure of visiting Banterville's capital Sledge City as Mike Hoiles, Henri, Gary Baker and Ian Gill began attacking each other whilst collecting the sand buckets and it was all down hill from there.
After subtracting half of the combined handicaps, Hoiles and Malakunas' 74 was enough to win despite an abysmal putting exhibition on the 15th hole. Next were Nifty and jezza Clare on 75.5, Gary Lissy and Peter Watson had 76.5 and the dishes went to Gabby Baker and Ian Gill with 79.

Last Saturday's Stableford results:
A grade-Alex Ryan 37 points
B grade- Steve Barrow 35 points
C grade- Pat Nicholls 35 points
NTPs 1/10 Massive
3/12 Trevor Atkins

Next Wednesday is the Steelcon Concrete's September Mug o' the Month.
Saturday is the Gisborne Peak Winery's August Monthly Medal. Thanks to Barb of Gisborne Peak there are 2 bottles of wine also going to Saturday's winner.

If you are intending to play in the Spring Stableford Challenge against Romsey GC at our home course on the 21st September, you need to let the Captain know asap for catering and to be included in the shotgun start.
