Team Event

Apologies to the thousands of you out there waiting for the Wednesday report, however as I was 'up the Murray' for the past three days, it has had to be put on the back burner.

Final Wednesday of the month is our regular gentlemen's partner/team's event; this week it was a Canadian Foursomes whereby each pair of players selects the better ball from the two drives before alternating strokes until the ball is holed. Numerous apologies did abound throughout the course on a most beautiful, clear Mt Macedon day.
Private school holidays meant PGA Pete Sinclair and Gary Baker were able to join us making a field of 14.
Well deserved winners were the Walrus and Ian 'Peter Garrett' Flannery with 71 and 3/8 from runners up and four putt specialists Gary Liddy and Steve 'I love the rain' Barrow-72 and 3/4. Other results: P. Watson and J. Clare-75 and 7/8, G. Pickles and K. Miles-76 and a half, G. Bonsack and G. Baker- 79 and 3/8.
As players returned to the delightfully warm clubhouse, they were greeted by the morose and forlorn sight of Peter Sinclair and Mike Hoiles preparing themselves for the journey to the sink with their miserable 80 and 3/4 only to have the rubber gloves snatched from them by Bryce Singh and Terry Penney's 81!!!! (the 10 strokes on the 13th did not help!) A miniscule 1/4 of a point!!!
Next week is the July Mug o' the Month, so be there or be talked about.
Tomorrow is the July Monthly Medal (if it is not a washout) and the playoff for the June Medal between Jim Hynes, Brian Walsh and the Walrus-if it is wet the Walrus should obviously have an advantage.

Finally a message from Graham Bysouth that he is playing shite golf BUT loving the weather up north.
