The Wet-nesday Report:
Commiserations to the 18 members (two grades) who believed Tuesday night's weather report that any moisture would be felt in the east of the state..... either the BoM was wrong or Mt Macedon Golf Club has relocated to Gippsland!
Just one player was able to play to his handicap and thus win the UFS Pharmacy June Mug o' the Month although there were quite a number of personal worsts achieved.
Just two players disqualified from the competition today-one had not checked the updated handicap sheets and therefore had the wrong handicap listed, the other did not submit his card at all. We are getting better-all players used the Members' Competition envelopes and not the green fees envelopes (which I had taken to remove temptation). We welcomed back Karl for his final card for handicap and also Joggers convinced his buddy James to try the wiles of the MMGC. It was with great delight that Joggers declared after the round: "We broke him!" Hope to see James back as his 24 points were certainly not the worst.
To the winners: A grade (handicap range 9-16)-Richard Payne (9) 36 points, runner up Rob Toole (13) 30 points, B grade (handicaps 17+): Gary Liddy (21) 34 points from John Dawson (19) 33 points which included a lazy 19 points on the inward nine.
The also rans: J Andrew (12) and Pierre Watson (22) 29 points, Ryan Toholka (17) 27, Mike Hoiles (16) 26, Walrus (11) and Luke Robinson (19) 25, Graham Bonsack (19) and James Collie (14) 24, Ian Gill (15) 23, Ian Flannery (20) and Jeremy Clare (19) 21 points, Tiger Penney (43) 20 points and B grade IOU on dishes and Nathan Fairley (15) 16 points and IOU on dishes.
An interesting tag team turn around in B grade as
last week's winner Tiger Penney swapped places with last week's dish pig Gary Liddy.
Jeremy Clare achieved his own personal worst with his 6 wipes, as did Graham Bonsack both men being pipped by Nathan's seven wipes.
This Saturday is a 2 person ambrose. Again, if you do not have a partner, please let me know as early as possible so I can attempt to pair you up. I currently have one morning player hanging loose.
Next Wednesday will be Par.
Enjoy the upcoming long weekend and hopefully some better golf conditions.
