Stableford

A wild and windy morning that only seemed to become cooler and windier the more holes we played; despite the conditions we had an excellent field of 16 (therefore two grades) and welcomed a new member, Karl, to the Wednesday Gentlemen's club.

Pleasingly just one player refused to write his handicap on his score card..... a reminder to all members to use the Members' envelopes (clearly labelled) and not the green fees envelopes when you are paying your comp fee.

Three birdies recorded on cards by Joggers Andrews (7th), Gary Liddy (12th) and Jeremy Clare, the latter being the only player to receive a ball for his three on the 17th.

Winners were: A grade (handicaps 11-19)-Rob Toole (14) 35 points, runner up was Mike Hoiles (16) with 31 points on countback. His 17 points on the inward nine were enough to overcome John Andrew and Ian Gill.

B grade (19+)-Matt Salter 37 points and a ball from runner up Tiger Penney 33 points.

Other scores: A grade-J. Clare (19) 29 points, Walrus (11) 26, Doc Golden (18) 26 points and dishes on countback.

B grade-Luke Robinson (19) 32 points, Graham Bonsack (19) 31, Pierre Watson (22) and Gregg Kennedy (19) 29 points, Oils Flannery (20) 24, Nifty Clark (22) 20, and Gary Liddy (21) 19 points and dishes.

Thanks to Peter Watson for pointing out the number of divots that had to be filled in on their round today.... we have consistently had green fee players attending since the course reopened, so many that Rob Beatson has had to relocate tee markers throughout the week to give tees a rest. And while their attendance brings in welcome finances, and while we expect all players to repair plug marks and divots, it clearly does not occur with all players on all occasions. None of us wants to be playing shots out of divots. It is up to us to look after our course.

Clearly ashtrays, consoles, glove boxes, piggy banks and the space down the back of the couch are now devoid of coins.......see pic. Treasurer Brian has had to bring a bucket to carry the cash to the Bendigo Community Bank!

This Saturday is the Macedon Nursery and Garden Supplies June Monthly Medal. It will also see the playoff for the February Medal between Jim Hynes and Rob Toole.

Next Wednesday sees the return of the MUG. The UFS Pharmacies' June Mug o' the Month stableford.

Few spaces remain for this Saturday's AM players. Plenty of room for the afternoon crew. Please let me know asap if you are intending to play.
