The 7:30 Report-Wednesday 24th February.
A glorious, still morning for the seven teams of three players for our modified Gentsomes competition. 3 drives minimum per player and all players were required to play their own ball on the par 3 holes. Best two stableford scores were recorded. Couple of Eagles today with Ian Gill chipping in on the 7th off a Joggers Andrew monster around the dogleg. Gary Liddy also recorded his own individual eagle on the 2nd hole. Sadly as it was a team competition, no balls for eagles.....maybe next week gents. Big thanks to Shooter Dawson for his work on the fairways, Gilly for keeping the roughs tidy in the absence of Pierre Watson, Oils for the manicured greens each Tuesday evening and Walrus for the surrounds.
Scoreboard: Winners The Three Gs, Glenn Moore, Gerry Timmins and Gary Baker-93 points Keith Miles, Gary Liddy and Kevin Taylor 91 (which included 50 points on the outward nine!!!) Mike Hoiles, Brian Collins and Tony Carter 90 points Nifty, Walrus and Walshy 89 points Gilly, Karl Pongracic and Joggers 89 points, Tiger Penney, PJ Cushen and Jezza 88 points, Leaving the dishes to Mike Gorman, Graeme Bonsack and Shooter Dawson 80 points.
Second shot NTPs 7/16 Ian Gill-eagle, 17th Nifty Clark-rolled in the birdie..... toot toot!
This Saturday is the Nuleaf Tree Services February Monthly Medal and also the final of the Medal of Medalists. Next Wednesday will be the Steelcon Constructions' March Mug o' the Month. The question on everybody's lips is: Can Shooter make it a three-peat of mugs? The link below is from James Sutherland (ex Cricket Australia boss and now in charge of Golf Australia-his role might explain where $65 of every membership fee goes) and refers to an article in the Australian newspaper (by Nikki Gemmell) specifically about Sydney's Moore Park Golf Course but referencing golf courses in general.
