The Wednesday Report
Yet another glorious Mt Macedon morning with 18 players for our stableford competition. Some
extremely interesting score cards were returned with fantastic scores on one of the nine holes followed by nine holes of absolute rubbish! Consistency is clearly not our strong suit.
Welcome back to Graham Bysouth who has returned to his Bendigo digs after a winter break at Nambucca Heads.
Today's lowlights-Gary Liddy had to abandon his buggy half way through the round, luckily his playing companion was Don Bubeck and Gags could tie his clubs to Don's cart. Burra inextricably lobbed his ball halfway along the 1st hole's pedestrian bridge and Mike Hoiles ploughed his drive on the 13th into the 4th tee's sandbox, only to have it ricochet back along the gravel path leading to the second tee-even more amazing was his 6 for 1 point!
The results:
A grade (handicaps 10-19) winner-Mark Burrage (13) 35 points
R/up-Tony Carter (15)
B grade (handicaps 20+) winner- Karl Pongracic (33) 35 points on countback from Don Bubeck (20).
No ball comp winners as no player achieved handicap or better.
Birdie balls to Oils Flannery and Walrus who both birdied the 10th TOOT TOOT!
Our lack of consistency is evidenced by these sample score cards:
21 on the front nine and 14 on the back.
19 on the front nine and 8 on the back.
22 on the front nine and 12 on the back.
5 points on the front nine and 20 on the back!
Other scores:
Gary Liddy (23) 34 points
Graham Bysouth (26) 33 points
John Dawson (18) 32 points
