14 players for today's Par that commenced in misty, still conditions that quickly evolved into a glorious day for springtime golf.
The course is in a fantastic state considering the wet conditions that have prevailed over the past couple of weeks. While Rob R does a sterling job for us, the efforts of our volunteers maintains the course to a level that is attractive, appealing and challenging to both members and green fee players. On behalf of members, thanks to Darcy Doyle on the greens mower and roller, Gregg Kennedy and John Dawson maintaining the fairways, Ian Gill and Peter Watson keeping the roughs tidy, Ian Flannery for his work on the surrounds and tees, Jeremy Clare who rakes the tees, and spent too many hours yesterday mowing and slashing the creek area of the 1st and 18th holes. Gary Liddy who has attacked the numerous trees that have fallen in the past month. Thank you also to Nifty Clark, Graeme Bonsack, new member Rhys Pattison and Bryce Singh who answered 'the call' and are on course tomorrow cleaning up an uprooted tree. And finally Course Superintendent Nathan Fairley who co-ordinates all of the above as well as trouble shooting busted machinery and the overall state of the course. Well done to you all, the course is a credit to your efforts.
