The Wednesday Report
Firstly a simple reminder to all competition players: there are just three things members are required to do before they hand their card in at the end of the round.
1. Write their name on the card in the Player A space.
2. Write their daily handicap.
3. Sign their card.
In the past week there have been 5 members disqualified for at least one of these breaches. It makes no difference if you have had a good, bad or ugly round, get into the habit of completing your card correctly. It is your responsibility not that of the tee master to ensure this is done.
Torrential rain, lightning and thunder overnight, but the course has managed it magnificently. Despite the winds, no damage to trees and 20 mls of rain but no damage to the clubhouse parking area.
Misty throughout the morning before bright sunshine....... after we had completed our round.
14 players for a stableford event.
Winner: Captain Richard (10) 39 points
R/up on countback from Doc Golden (18) was Luke Robinson (18) 33 points.
John Dawson (18) 31, Rob Toole 29, Pierre Watson (22) 28, Walrus (11) 27, Ryan 'Mr Inconsistency' Toholka (18) followed up last weekend's 40 points with a paltry 25 along with Gary Liddy (21) and Tiger Penney (43) in their first games back and Ian Gill (15), Mike Hoiles (16) 24 points, 20 points for Rob Devs (20) and faux dishes to Oils Flannery (20) just 19 points.
Had the Captain walked off after the front nine he still would have comfortably beaten the final two players! Lift your game gentlemen!
Great to see Terry Penney back-we missed you Tiger just like you missed the ball by having 2 air swings on two different holes! Please pass on the Wednesday Gentlemen's best wishes to your wife after her major back operation. Your son Steve said the damage was caused by carrying you around all these years..... a little cruel me thinks.
This Saturday is again Stableford as is next Wednesday's competition.
I have received bookings for 21 players for this Saturday's AM field but just 5 for the afternoon. Deadline is 3pm Friday.
