Par

The Wednesday Gentlemen's comp continues to thrive; today 18 players created six groups and two grades for a Par round on an overcast, still morning.

We welcomed our hard working tutors PGA Peter Sinclair and Hank Hohmann as they take an Easter break from sniffing white board cleaner and being tormented by staffroom gossip. We also welcomed Bryce Singh who has taken up our Summer Members' offer and joined for the remainder of this year and onto June 30th 2020.

Only three players were able equal or better their handicaps: Mike Hoiles won A grade with +2, B grade winner was Bryce Singh also returning a +2, while Peter Watson picked up a ball for finishing square with the card.

Hard luck story of the day was Graham Bonsack who is said to have missed nine makeable putts by a 'bee's dick' to finish on -2 for the round. Congratulations to Nifty who, following his recent Monthly Medal victory, has rejoined the A graders.

Of course, two grades means two for the dishes and so it was for Giddy -6 and Aitch -9. The 'Cheshire Cat' sitting at the end of the table was Tuppence Penney delighted to see others at the sink giving his cuticles a rest.

This Saturday is a Par event while next Wednesday we are back to Stableford-again we are to be assembled by 7:15 to organise groups for a 7:30 hit off.
