The 7:30 report Wednesday 14th July

As we arrived in the early morning mist, this came to me:

"Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor Dark Of Night Shall Stay These Couriers From The Swift Completion Of Their Appointed Rounds."

This is generally recognised as the US Postal Services' oath-Replace the word 'Couriers' with 'Golfers' and you get some idea of what we ventured into this morning....... most of us anyway.

14 players commenced the Par round in showers sweeping down from the mount and winds that grew in intensity throughout the day, however Walkaway Watson brought the field back to 13 in quick time-was it the bitter cold biting into his uncovered legs or the other members of his group that saw Pull out Pete finish at the 4th tee? Hope you have defrosted before Saturday Bubba.

An excellent return of +1 for Captain Richard Payne (9), which included a one over the card for the front nine! resulted in his win and was the only player to achieve handicap or better.

Runner up was the Shadow that Walks, Graeme "The Phantom' Bonsack (19) -2.

Other scores:
Mike Hoiles (14) -3
Walrus (10), Gary Liddy (19) and Joggers Andrew (11) -4
Tiger Penney (38) -5
Shooter Dawson (14) and Tony Littman (12) -7
Peter Sinclair (7) -8
Ian Gill (14) -9

Leaving the dishes to a countback between Henri Malakunas (25) and Tony Carter (12), Tony taking the Chux.

NTP Richard Payne snatched it from Walrus on the 2nd/11th

Birdie holes: Mike Hoiles 12th, Walrus 7th
